The Rosewood Vienna has just opened its doors in a building built in 1835, on the Petersplatz.
made its debut on Monday on the Viennese hotel scene. The Rosewood Vienna opened its doors on August 1. For this fifth installation in Europe, the upscale hotel has invested in a choice address: the former headquarters of the Erste Group Bank AG, one of whose buildings Mozart once lived in, and created. And this in the heart of the Austrian capital, on Petersplatz.
The conversion of the vast neoclassical building was entrusted to the local architectural firms A2K and BEHF, with the London studio Alexander Waterworth in charge of the interior design.
In the meetings & events department, the hotel has three Pavilions – which can be connected to form a single event space – in addition to the Coffee Bar. The Rosewood Vienna also has a brasserie on the sixth floor and a rooftop bar with a view of the old town. On the wellness side, the Asaya Spa will offer treatments inspired by Austrian traditions starting in September.
” The opening of Rosewood Vienna offers today’s luxury travelers a new Viennese lifestyle, infused with the rich history of the destination, but also with the modern, cosmopolitan feel befitting this dynamic European capital
,” says Alexander Lahmer, general manager of Rosewood Vienna.
I’m Michelle, and I love to travel. As a former hotel expert for one of the world’s largest hotel chains, I’ve stayed in nearly every type of room imaginable (including many that were not so desirable!). Nowadays, I am fortunate enough to be able to explore the world on my own terms. From international flights to learning different languages, there is nothing too far out of reach!
