, a platform that simplifies the travel experience, has unveiled the 10 most popular destinations for the French in the run-up to the Easter vacations, based on bookings on the Ulysses website for departures between April and May 2022. The sunny destination popular in the spring is also marked by the great return of New York.

Like last year, Montreal remains at the top of the list of spring tourist destinations. The St. Lawrence city still attracts as many tourists as ever, and North America did well as New York came in second just after the U.S. border reopened. Fort-de-France climbed to the top of the podium ahead of the other sunny destinations, all of which are European: notably Rome, Madrid and Barcelona.

Heading for the Mediterranean

The Mediterranean coast has been well represented in a very European vintage over the past 12

months.

In 2021, still heavily constrained by health protocols, Montreal is followed by nine European destinations, including only one (Pointe-à-Pitre) overseas. Due to its proximity to European countries, travelers can easily enjoy the mild Mediterranean weather in Lisbon, Nice, Athens, Bastia or Ibiza. Spain and Portugal had a good year, with five cities on the list. Guadeloupe joins three other French destinations. Nice, Toulouse and Bastia.
