Las Vegas, Nevada has nearly one hundred fifty thousand hotel rooms. There are many options for accommodation, and the variety is wide and varied. MGM Resorts has several properties along the Las Vegas Strip. The Aria Resort is one of them. It’s centrally located near the city’s highlights and in a prime location on the South Strip. Booking and Getting there:
I’ve been staying at MGM Hotels and Resorts for more than twenty years. Despite this, I don’t gamble a lot. But I love the Las Vegas restaurant scene. Each celebrity chef has a representation for his or her restaurant in this US postal code. This has become quite a popular destination for foodies, with many different options available every night.
The Aria Sky Suites can be accessed via a microsite that is linked to the Aria website. This microsite is designed to market Aria Sky Suites as a boutique hotel. The Aria Sky Suites can be found within the Aria Resort and casino, which includes the Aria Hotel and Vdara Hotel as well as the Aria Sky Suites. It is located in central South Strip, which makes it easy to walk to many of the local attractions.
After arriving off our Alaska Airlines First Class Bellingham – Seattle flight, we were met by our driver at the bottom of the escalator stairs at Las Vegas McCarran holding an iPad with our surname on it. All Aria Sky Suites guests have access to the complimentary arrival service and limo transfer. The driver helped us with our bags and took us to the VIP car rank just outside the arrivals hall. It was easy to park the car right outside the exit, so it was not a long walk.
We were led to one of the 28 limos in Aria’s fleet. The limo featured unique Aria branding across the vehicle. It was unlike any other hotel or resort that would take the time to have their cars taken.
Don, our driver offered Evian water to us for the short trip to Aria Sky Suites.
The obligatory shot of leg room. A Lincoln Town Car with a long length offers quite a lot of space.
The ride over to the Aria Sky Suites property from Las Vegas McCarran International was a quick 15 minutes. The Aria Sky Suites has a private rear entrance off the east Interstate 15 access road. After we had passed an unmarked security gate, our driver led us into a private entrance that was rarely crowded during our stay. This was a stark contrast to the busy arrival areas at most Las Vegas Strip casinos, which have throngs of people waiting for their taxis and revellers. It was a pleasant experience to be able to get to a Las Vegas hotel without having to fight the crowds.
Don led us through a line of staff who were ready to help with our bags upon arrival. Don led us down the arrival hall and handed us over at the front desk. Our driver had already identified us. These are some photos of the check-in area.
After the check-in, we were discreetly handed to Rebecca, who made arrangements to take us to our rooms. We were taken to the elevator and passed the “Fine Art Collection”, which was a stunning Andy Warhol series.
Similar to the riding the elevator down to the limo transfer cars at the Lufthansa First Class Terminal our personal assistant, Rebecca left us to ride the guest elevator up to the room on our own. Rebecca helped us find our way to the room and brought our bags up shortly after we arrived. It is a little strange to be left alone like this. An escort seems to be more welcoming and friendly to guests and would also help to show the hotel and area to them.
Today’s One Bedroom Penthouse Suite was actually on the 38th floor?? (laughing )
The Room: One Bedroom Penthouse Suite
The Aria One Bedroom Penthouse Suites feature 1,400 square feet of space with the following features
- Separate Living Room area
- Separate Dining Room area with wet bar, mini bar and separate fridge.
- Separate One Bedroom area
- One and a half bathrooms.
It’s a great hotel room with three times its size, giving it suite-like qualities
Here is a floor plan taken from the website:
First impressions? Overall, it’s an impressive room that pleased Mrs WT73 to no end. It’s better than our house. Hello y-es. “I live here.” You do, for the next three days. It’s only.
The room was decorated in a modern, contemporary style. It was perfect for the trendy Las Vegas surroundings.
Immediately adjacent to the front door was a small bathroom.
A Living Area:
The room was transformed into a living space immediately after being entered. The room featured a large sectional sofa with amazing floor-to-ceiling views.
The living area contained a small office and a desk. It was not the place that people come to to work in Las Vegas. In the unlikely event that you need to complete a project on the road, it’s important to have this space.
A Dining Area with a Wet Bar:
The Aria Sky Suite’s central room was a dining area that included a wet bar. It’s an easy way to indulge in private dining and I love having a table at the dining table in a hotel. This is a luxury that you don’t often find on the road. Sitting at a desk in a hotel room is just as unpleasant.
A Bedroom with a King:
The bedroom was fantastic. It was well coded and a good size. Although it was not too large, it wasn’t small. We didn’t spend much time in the bedroom, except to sleep because of the spaciousness.
The room was decorated with contemporary art. The hands were used as a handy wallet phone holder.
An Expansive Ensuite Bathroom:
This room had the most spacious ensuite bathroom I have ever seen. It was right up there with the large bathroom at Park Villa, Park Hyatt Maldives. MrsWT73 was impressed that she had not only her own sink, but a separate make up station, walk in closet, steam room, and bathtub as well.
All electronics and lighting are controlled from the tablet at the bedside. It was easy to use the tablet without needing to read or guess.
Overall, the Aria Sky Suites were a magnificent room. Although there was some wear and tear, it was otherwise a very pleasant suite. Rebecca found some ice and brought it to our room after dropping the bag.
A Room with a View:
The room also had an eastward view of the Las Vegas Strip. Because the Las Vegas Strip is such a chaotic collection of buildings, casinos and other structures, the view of the area is much more important than any particular attraction or feature. Despite all this, I found the attraction enjoyable.
My Thoughts on the Room at the Aria Sky Suites:
The Aria Sky Suites were a hard product. They offered a room with all the amenities and comforts of a world-class suite. The room was spacious and had great views. It is much more elegant to arrive at any Las Vegas property by stepping off the plane into a chauffeured limousine.
In our next post, we’ll take a look at the Aria Sky Suites Resort Amenities and features around the property.
