The Find X5 Pro, Oppo’s new premium smartphone.
Oppo had announced the color in early February by presenting the advances of its image processor house, then a few days later by announcing a partnership with the Swedish photographic manufacturer Hasselblad. This confirms the premium positioning of the latest generation of Find X
smartphones, starting with the recently unveiled Find X5 Pro. The image, but also an offbeat design are the highlights of the latest flagship of the Chinese manufacturer.
After the merger of its parent company BBK with the other brand of the Chinese group, OnePlus, Oppo relies on this technical rapprochement to strengthen a strategy carried out with a bang at the global level, Oppo is now placed in fourth position on the smartphone market. The new Find X series has been eagerly awaited and the innovations closely scrutinized as premium smartphones continue to try to differentiate themselves from the competition with new features that consumers appreciate, from shooting to battery life and design.
The new Oppo Find X5 series includes three models: the Find X5 Lite, Find X5 and the most premium model we’ll focus on, the Find X5 Pro. This collection succeeds the Find X3 series without going through the X4 box, the number 4 having been skipped due to its harmful symbolism in China and Asia.
The Oppo Find X5 Pro has a 6.7-inch high-definition Amoled display that is fully immersive, with an impressive color slab, to enjoy particularly worked image features. The aluminum chassis remains similar to its competitors, with a glass back and a screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
back, this smartphone stands out for the original presentation of its photo block highlighted by a slightly offset narrowed curve, as if to better slim it at first glance
The particularity of this new flagship lies mainly in its image processing. In addition to three cameras on the back, including a 50 MP main sensor as well as a 50 MP ultra wide-angle sensor and a 13 MP telephoto lens, the smartphone has a five-axis stabilization system, a first for a smartphone. This puts the risk of shaky shots to one side.
The in-house image processing processor, called MariSilicon X and worked with artificial intelligence, ensures
According to the Chinese manufacturer, the color rendering is more natural. This work on software adjustment has been done in collaboration with Hasselblad, as well as portrait photography. Shooting on a smartphone with forced colors is indeed a real dilemma that manufacturers are trying to remedy in a more or less effective way, Apple with its latest generation of iPhone stands out in an interesting way on the subject.
Oppo is looking to optimize the mobile photography experience with Hasselblad, an iconic camera brand that was already working with OnePlus. Oppo is also showing significant improvements in the sensitivity of its smartphones, including the ability to shoot in 4K at night for the FindX5 Pro and pixel-by-pixel noise reduction.
In addition to its in-house image processing processor under the hood, the Oppo Find X5 Pro has a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor from Qualcomm, the most powerful chip of the latter to date with optimized speed, all running on Android 12. Another feature specific to this premium smartphone, the durability wanted and promoted by the Chinese manufacturer. If it has a battery of 5000 mAh quite classic in this category of smartphone, as well as an adaptive response rate of 120 hZ, Oppo Find X5 Pro would ensure more than 1,600 possible charge cycles according to the manufacturer. A real plus in terms of durability.
As for autonomy, the business traveler will appreciate the principle of fast charging, half of the charge being obtained in 12 minutes. In addition to 80 watts of wired fast charging, the smartphone is compatible with 50 watts of wireless charging and 15 watts of reverse charging. As far as endurance is concerned, this premium smartphone, certified IP 68, is waterproof and dustproof, like most of its current premium counterparts.
As for security, nothing extraordinary, the optical fingerprint reader being housed under the panel. Oppo, on the other hand, highlights its privacy control system, now certified. This ensures that executives on the move can rest assured that their data will be safe and secure in a premium smartphone that is expensive, but that could cut the teeth of competitors such as the Galaxy S22 from Samsung.
