Jo&Joe, a new generation of youth hostels with private rooms in its offer.
Celebrating its fifth anniversary soon, Jo&Joe has announced an expansion of its offer. From four establishments opened at the end of last year, Accor’s youthful lifestyle brand is expected to quickly exceed 1,000 establishments. And that’s just in China, thanks to the signing of a master franchise agreement between the Ennismore
joint venture, designed to develop lifestyle brands, and Funyard Hotels and Resorts.
This exclusive strategic partner of the brand has committed to opening at least 1,300 Jo&Joe stores in mainland China, the first of which will open this year. This massive development plan will accelerate the brand’s internationalization. Launched in Hossegor, in the Landes region of France, before appearing in Paris intra muros and in Gentilly on the outskirts, Jo&Joe had already ventured to Vienna last year, in a building next to the Westbahnhof, one of the Austrian capital’s railway hubs.
With an Ikea store on the lower floors, one of the largest rooftops in the city, a large cinema, a “Beer Wall”, and hybrid accommodation between shared dormitories and “Yours” rooms adapted to business travelers, Jo&Joe Vienna, like all the other hotels of the brand, embodies these new generation youth hostels that meet the expectations of all types of travelers. This friendly, festive atmosphere will be extended to other destinations as well, since in addition to the announced expansion in China, the brand will be moving to South America this year with a hotel in Medellin, Colombia, in the tourist district of El Poblado.
Another development expected on this continent is the opening of a Jo&Joe in Rio de Janeiro, at the foot of the Corcovado and the famous Christ the Redeemer. Integrated into the Largo do Boticario architectural complex, which includes a restaurant, two bars, three swimming pools and a coworking space with meeting rooms, Jo&Joe Rio will offer private rooms as well as 320 beds for up to 10 people. After this South American foray, the brand will return to Europe with a location in Rome in 2023.
I’m Michelle, and I love to travel. As a former hotel expert for one of the world’s largest hotel chains, I’ve stayed in nearly every type of room imaginable (including many that were not so desirable!). Nowadays, I am fortunate enough to be able to explore the world on my own terms. From international flights to learning different languages, there is nothing too far out of reach!
