and a long history. As a result, there is much to explore when you travel to India, from the fascinating landscapes to the distinctive cuisine. However, it is essential to meet the requirements of an e-visa for India in order to obtain the necessary authorization to enter the country.

the Indian visa?
The Indian visa is an official authorization to enter and stay in India
. All travelers to India must have one. There are two main categories of visas set up by the Indian government:
- The classic visa, or “regular visa”: this document is affixed to the passport before the departure for India. It is issued in the form of a sticker. It usually takes about 5 days to obtain.
- The e-visa is issued online in the form of a document to be printed in A4 format. An official seal is then affixed to the passport upon your arrival in India. Delivery is made within a minimum of 2 to 5 days.
Good to know: Only passports must be used to acquire the visa.
Eligibility criteria for obtaining the Indian e-Visa
- Travelers whose sole purpose is to visit India for recreational purposes, tourism, occasional visits to meet friends or relatives, short-term medical treatment or occasional business visits.
- The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in India. It must have at least two blank pages to be stamped by the immigration officer.
- International travelers must have a return or onward ticket and sufficient funds to spend during their stay in India.
- You must provide your hotel reservation or itinerary.
- For family/friend visits, you will need to provide the name and address of the person(s) you will be visiting.
- For business trips, you will need to provide your business card and address.t all the information about your company (name, address, phone, website…). You will also need to provide information about the company you will be visiting.
- For medical travel, you will need to provide a letter of invitation from the hospital where you will be staying.

Documents needed to apply for an Indian visa
To apply for the Indian visa online, you will need a scanned copy of each of the following documents to be uploaded in the online application form:
- A passport-style photograph
- Photocopy of your passport information page
- PDF of the application (which you can fill out from the online order form, you will need to type in your answers, save the PDF and upload it to the form).

Duration of validity of the Indian e-Visa
India business and tourist e-visa are valid for one year from the day of e-approval. Business and Tourism e-Visa holders can enter India multiple times, with stays of up to 90 days for tourism and up to 180 days for business purposes.
Certain nationalities are eligible for stays of up to 180 days for tourist purposes.
Medical e-Visas are valid for up to 60 days from the date of entry into India. This visa allows triple entry.
