The Hyde Hotel’s swimming pool, recently opened in Dubai.
While the World Expo has been driving Dubai’s hotel business since October 1st, visitors have had the opportunity to discover a new hotel in the busy Business Bay district. Given the diversity of the hotel offer already available in the emirate, this is actually quite rare. The Hyde Hotels brand has thus chosen Dubai to make its debut outside the United States. This contemporary hotel player, which has a few establishments in Florida, was initially launched by the American group sbe, taken over in 2018 by Accor and integrated into the Ennismore
joint venture, dedicated to the development of lifestyle hotels.
True to this positioning, this elegant hotel is distinguished by the diversity of the culinary concepts offered, including a Japanese restaurant, Katsuya, and an Eastern Mediterranean-inspired table, Cleo, or the Hudson Tavern bar in a New York speakeasy style, all in spaces designed by South African Tristan Plessis. Also on the agenda are an exclusive swimming pool and a Cinq Mondes spa.
As for the 276 rooms, all with balconies and designed by the Italian designer Ciarmoli Queda, they come in many categories, from the Deluxe Hyde Out to the executive and presidential suites, not forgetting the premium Hyde Away room with a view of the Burj Khalifa. The Hyde Dubai also offers a 200m2 meeting room for up to 100 participants.
This latest development adds to Accor’s portfolio in the emirate, which already includes some 50 hotels, with more to come. Among the recently opened establishments, the month of October saw the appearance of the luxurious Raffles The Palm Dubai
The French hotelier is obviously not the only one to continue its expansion in the emirate. While German group Deutsche Hospitality expects to open a 138-room InterCity Hotel along the Dubai Canal in the Al Jaddaf district by the end of the year, Marriott recently unveiled a new project for its upscale lifestyle brand W. Adding to the already opened W Dubai The Palm on Palm Jumeirah Island, this new address will be located on the Jumeirah Beach coastline in Mina Seyahi Bay and close to the Dubai Marina
Expected to open next year, the future W Dubai – Mina Seyahi will offer 318 rooms, including 26 suites and an Extreme WOW suite. Its lifestyle spirit will be manifested by the presence of one of the brand’s signatures, namely a lively lobby, the W Lounge. This will be complemented by a swimming pool, spa and high-end fitness centre spread over two floors of the hotel. Note that Marriott International had also seen the opening last October of a luxurious 298-room St Regis in the heart of Downtown Dubai, on the banks of the canal
I’m Michelle, and I love to travel. As a former hotel expert for one of the world’s largest hotel chains, I’ve stayed in nearly every type of room imaginable (including many that were not so desirable!). Nowadays, I am fortunate enough to be able to explore the world on my own terms. From international flights to learning different languages, there is nothing too far out of reach!
