Unbound collection by hyatt
Adhering to the Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand philosophy, Magma Resort Santorini will offer guests a unique, contemporary and personalized experience. Nestled amidst ancient traditional vineyards, the resort is located on the slopes of Vourvoulos, close to the picturesque lava sand beaches of the northeast of the island and popular cosmopolitan destinations such as Fira and Oia, famous for their sunsets. The resort’s culinary experience, Magma by Spondi, will be designed by two Michelin-starred chefs, highlighting local agriculture and seasonal ingredients in a modern and creative interpretation. The restaurant will offer signature dishes and other gourmet options, accompanied by renowned wines from the rich viticulture for which the island is known.

A famous island
Santorini is one of the most visited islands in Greece and is famous for its connection to the lost island of Atlantis. Due to its growing popularity, it has been selected as a priority area for sustainable tourism by the Ministry of Tourism and the European Bank. The island is known for its extraordinary and picturesque beaches, its cliffs overlooking the caldera and its iconic sunsets.
“We are thrilled to be part of the Hyatt family, to bring the Hyatt brand’s Unbound collection to Greece and the unforgettable experiences that brand recognition brings. With Hyatt, we hope to set a new benchmark in the hotel industry,” said Mr. Stefanos Papakaliatis, managing partner of Thera Islands Suites.
Art wellness center
The design of Santorini Magma Resort will incorporate the organic shapes of black volcanic stone, with contrasting gray and white geometric prisms reminiscent of Santorini’s volcanic ash that spreads across the island. The complex is inspired by the surrounding traditional houses, pezoules and terraces used for wine growing. It will blend into the natural environment while paying homage to Santorini’s underground spaces and cave houses, with a state-of-the-art wellness center and underground spa, as well as a spa that can accommodate up to 250 people. Elsewhere, the complex will include several semi-outdoor spaces and covered walkways to create a balance between indoor coolness and outdoor heat. The design and architectural development will be carried out by PEOPLE and ELASTIC Architects.
Cellar homes
“ This is an iconic project for SWOT and the destination,” says Mr. Stelios Koutsivitis, president of SWOT Hospitality. “As a team, we are passionate about this agreement with Hyatt and are committed to creating an authentic, extraordinary and moving resort that carries the spiritual DNA of Greece.”
