Future Hampton by Hilton Potsdam.
Hilton’s mid-range brands are continuing their momentum in Europe. While the American group currently has around 60 Hilton Garden Inns in operation on the continent, as well as around 100 Hampton by Hilton hotels, six new openings have been announced for 2023-2024. All of this adds up to a target of 100 new properties in Europe over the next five years for these two brands, described by Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton’s senior vice president of development for the EMEA region, as ” Hilton’s fastest growing brands” and which represent ” more than half of the European development pipeline
Last year, 23 hotels were added to the portfolio, with entries in new markets such as Wales, with the Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia. More recently, a brand new Hampton by Hilton opened its doors at the airport in Riga
, the Latvian capital. Among the future developments announced for the brand, another airport hotel is expected in September 2024 and will mark the U.S. group’s first location near the Berlin hub. Offering 196 rooms, a breakfast area and bar as well as a gym, the future Hampton by Hilton Berlin Airport West will be located five minutes by train from the terminals and about 30 minutes from the center of the German capital.
Still in Germany, and not far from Berlin, a Hampton by Hilton is also in the works in Potsdam, with a 163-room hotel in the direct vicinity of the famous Babelsberg film studios and its theme park. Expected to open in June 2024, it will be aimed at a leisure clientele, as Potsdam offers another tourist and cultural highlight with Frederick the Great’s Sanssouci Palace. But the 163-room hotel, with a breakfast area and bar, will also have a business dimension with a meeting room.
In Poland, the Hampton by Hilton Szczecin East, scheduled to open in early 2024, will have a stronger appeal to business travelers. This is due to the size of the city, Poland’s largest commercial port and a major rail hub connecting the country to its neighbors, but also to the hotel’s offering, which includes a business center, two meeting rooms that can be converted into a large event hall, and 103 guest rooms.
Another establishment with business contours, yet in an eminently tourist destination, the future Hampton by Hilton Venice Tronchetto will have two meeting rooms and an area dedicated to nomadic work. Located on the island of Tronchetto, and connected to the center of Venice by vaporetto, the hotel expected in spring 2024 will also be one of the largest in the Serenissima with 324 rooms.
In Italy, the Hilt
on Garden Inn is expected to open in spring 2023 in Bologna, in the industrial area of Quarto Inferiore, located north of the capital of Emilia Romagna. Neighboring the offices of several multinationals, the hotel will offer 130 rooms, but also four meeting rooms, in addition to a gym and 80 outdoor parking spaces. The last development announced for late 2023 is a Hilton Garden Inn in Plymouth, UK, with a 150-room hotel dominated by a sky bar overlooking the port city.
I’m Michelle, and I love to travel. As a former hotel expert for one of the world’s largest hotel chains, I’ve stayed in nearly every type of room imaginable (including many that were not so desirable!). Nowadays, I am fortunate enough to be able to explore the world on my own terms. From international flights to learning different languages, there is nothing too far out of reach!
