EU re-imposes restrictions on US travellers.
Non-essential travel is once again restricted, such as testing or quarantine, in the European Union for travellers from the United States, but also from Israel, Lebanon, Kosovo, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia. The spread of the Delta variant has led the EU to reconsider its recommendations and to remove these six countries from its “green” list established at the end of June. However, the EU leaves open the possibility for Member States not to apply this restriction to travellers who are fully vaccinated.
The authorities of the Member States remain responsible for the implementation of the content of the recommendation,” the European Union also emphasized in its press release of August 30. They may, in full transparency, only gradually lift the travel restrictions on the countries listed.
” It should be noted that, conversely, the American and Israeli borders are also closed to international tourists.
As for the countries for which travel restrictions to the EU are potentially lifted, they are 19 as of August 30, 2021: Albania, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei, Canada, Japan, Jordan, Moldova, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Ukraine and Taiwan. China, subject to confirmation of reciprocity, is also affected by the lifting of travel restrictions, as are Hong Kong and Macao.

I’m Michelle, and I love to travel. As a former hotel expert for one of the world’s largest hotel chains, I’ve stayed in nearly every type of room imaginable (including many that were not so desirable!). Nowadays, I am fortunate enough to be able to explore the world on my own terms. From international flights to learning different languages, there is nothing too far out of reach!
