Paris is, along with London, citizenM’s favorite destination. These two major cities together account for nearly a third of the 30 or so properties offered by the pioneering lifestyle hotel brand worldwide. In this context, while 11 new hotels are expected to be opened by 2023, the Dutch brand will add its fifth establishment in the French capital. After Paris-CDG airport, the La Défense and Gare de Lyon districts and the Champs Elysées
since late summer 2021, a new hotel is being prepared in the Opéra and Grands Boulevards district, rue du Croissant.
“After the successful launch of the citizenM Paris Champs-Élysées last year, we are delighted to add a fifth hotel in Paris, in the vibrant Opera district
,” said Klaas Van Lookeren, CEO of citizenM. While the structural work on the building, by architects Hardel Le Bihan, was completed last March, it is not expected to open until 2023. The hotel will feature 84 rooms and all the elements of the citizenM atmosphere, including art, design, a 24/7 canteenM bar and kitchen, work spaces, and a touchless experience.
Without waiting for the opening, the brand’s customers can enjoy the new mycitizenM+ loyalty program at existing locations. Unlike traditional hotel programs, the brand’s strategy is not based on points and status, but on discounts and benefits. For a year-round subscription of 10 euros per month, citizenM guarantees room availability for reservations made by members at least 48 hours in advance, and with a 10% discount on the lowest public rate. Membership in mycitizenM+ also entitles members to a free late checkout and access to a dedicated chat service as well as discounts and members-only events.
This membership idea was previously implemented by the lifestyle brand in 2020 with the launch during the pandemic of the global passport and a corporate membership package. Complementary modules are being developed in order to pe
rsonnaliser ces abonnements selon le type de voyageur, que ce soit les voyageurs loisirs, les collaborateurs d’entreprises ou les professionnels indépendants. ” We have always attracted entrepreneurs, freelancers and consultants. Many of them are starting or growing a business and pay for their travel out of pocket. We understand the importance of being attractive while still wanting a high quality travel experience. That’s why we launched mycitizenM+,” said Ernest Lee, chief growth officer of citizenM.

I’m Michelle, and I love to travel. As a former hotel expert for one of the world’s largest hotel chains, I’ve stayed in nearly every type of room imaginable (including many that were not so desirable!). Nowadays, I am fortunate enough to be able to explore the world on my own terms. From international flights to learning different languages, there is nothing too far out of reach!
