With more than 7,000 hotels worldwide, most of them in the U.S. market, Choice Hotels will strengthen its position of strength across the Atlantic by taking over the franchise activities and operations of Radisson Hotel Group Americas. This entity, which is separate from the Radisson Hotel Group and has a geographic scope that extends to the EMEA and APAC regions, is responsible for developing and managing the Radisson brands in the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Radisson Group will acquire this business from Choice for approximately $675 million. The transaction, which involves 624 hotels, includes 10 Radisson Blu and 130 Radisson hotels as well as 453 Country Inn & Suites by Radisson hotels. ” This transaction brings together two very complementary businesses…and expands our reach into the upscale and full-service premium segments and higher revenue geographic markets,” said Patrick Pacious, CEO of Choice Hotels. Indeed, with nine additional brands, the transaction will enable Choice to enhance its portfolio of predominantly urban brands, suited to markets with high revenue per room.
