Neither Paris nor Frankfurt in continental Europe. The Australian airline Qantas

has finally chosen Rome as its only destination in the European Union. A city that will be added to its existing service from London Heathrow. The choice of Rome is explained by the high demand from and to Australia from the diaspora. Rome also offers a one-hour shorter flight time than other European airports.

The airline will fly three times a week from Rome to Sydney with a stopover in Perth, Western Australia. This will be the first time continental Europe has been served non-stop to Australia. Qantas will use a long-range Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

According to Qantas, this will be the fastest flight between Rome and Perth, reducing travel time by 3 hours compared to existing options. The route will operate alongside the two daily flights operated by Qantas to London.

The new flight will only operate during the summer season. That is, until 6 October. In Rome, passengers will have access to connections to 16 destinations in Europe operated by ITA. These include Nice, Paris, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Munich and Madrid. As well as some fifteen Italian cities.
