The announcement of the lifting of travel restrictions in place for over 18 months has led to a significant increase in bookings at Air France, particularly on routes to New York, Miami and Los Angeles, for travel in November and during the end-of-year holidays.

In order to accompany the recovery in transatlantic traffic, Air France will therefore gradually increase its capacity during the winter season. By the end of March 2022, the airline plans to return to an offer corresponding to around 90% of that of 2019, compared with 50% in the summer of 2021.

This will notably involve adding frequencies to certain destinations, such as New York (increase from 3 to 5 flights a day), Miami (increase from 7 to 12 flights a week) or Los Angeles (increase from 12 to 17 flights a week). During this period, Air France will also reopen the Paris-Charles de Gaulle – Seattle route, suspended since the beginning of the Covid (3 flights a week as from 6 December), it will resume its usual route between Paris and Papeete, via Los Angeles (3 flights a week between Los Angeles and Papeete as from 11 November 2021), and it will inaugurate a new route between Pointe-à-Pitre and New York JFK (2 flights a week as from 24 November 2021).

This winter, Air France will serve 11 destinations in the United States: New York JFK – the airline’s first international stopover, Boston, Washington DC, Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Houston, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, with up to 122 flights per week.
